KOCHI, India – Nissan recently sponsored TENCON 2019, the premier international technical conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). TENCON is the world's largest technical professional organisation for the advancement of technology.

This year TENCON attracted around 1700 participants from the Asia Pacific region. As the title sponsor, Nissan Digital showcased the world's best-selling electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF. Nissan Digital consists of technologists associated with the event to attract talent and tell the engineering group about Nissan's digital transformation.

Visitors included people from diverse backgrounds including government officials, academicians, technical experts, technologists and students. They all flocked to the Nissan Digital booth to witness and experience Nissan's Vehicle to Home (V2H) demonstration. Nissan showcased V2H to generate awareness about its EV capabilities and position the car as an alternative mode to meet power requirements in Indian households. The honourable Governor of Kerala, Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, enquired about the LEAF and witnessed the V2H technology demonstration at the Nissan booth.
 
Being the keynote speaker, Tony Thomas, CVP & CIO, Nissan Motor Corp. addressed the talk on "Sustainability with Digital Transformation". He spoke about Nissan using its position as a world-leading automaker to pursue the ultimate goals of achieving zero emissions through the reduction of CO2 emissions from new Nissan vehicles. Another goal is the elimination of virtually all fatalities that result from traffic accidents involving Nissan cars. His talk focused on new ways of working and on delivering the most innovative technologies including big data, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and other emerging technologies. This will allow Nissan to reduce its reliance on outside partners and deliver services faster, better, and more efficiently across the business.

During the event, Bruno Grippay, Regional Director, Customer Experience, Nissan AMI Region, addressed a session on the "Role of Connected Cars in Mobility Revolution".

Furthermore, Nissan Digital hosted an industry panel on "New Age Cyber Attacks – Strategies to mitigate them and Remediate", where Tarun Kumar, CISO Nissan Digital, moderated the session.

Nissan Digital also curated a "Solution Ninja" contest in association with HackerEarth to educate the participants about Nissan Digital and attract talent. HackerEarth provides enterprise software solutions that help organisations with their technical recruitment needs. Around 100 young professionals and future engineers participated in the innovative platform where they were assessed on various areas including Python, Java and Angular, Logical Reasoning, Mathematical and General Programming. The winners were given Nissan Digital t-shirts, coffee mugs and diaries.
